WELCOME
Welcome to all, old and new! :~)
It's been another hectic week. Working the home business forums looking for interviewees has taken up most of my time. I've had tons of people offering to send me their interviews, and already had 7 of them send them in. The aim is 25, then if possible I might just decide to go for 50, depending on how long it actually takes ;~)
As for the Forget The Hype! full version, I've already had 2 joint venture proposals for when it's ready from people who have only read the free version so I'm mega pleased with that ;~)
The Can Spam Act is hitting our email boxes again. For me it started on Tuesday, just a couple of mails mentioning the can spam act, and a couple of links for further info.
Here`s one of them http://www.marketingsherpa.com/sample.cfm?contentID=2576
As far as I can see (don't shoot me if I'm wrong :p) if people opt out of your "brand" then that means forever and ever and even if an affiliate sends them a mail including/promoting your "brand" then you are the one held responsible for it??
I`m really interested in hearing your thoughts on it.
So until next time, get those votes in, get those interviews in, and above all...
Enjoy Reading!
May you be happy and prosperous in everything you do!

This weeks download/ebook is How To Get Reprint Rights To Products
Without Paying A Dime!: A special report with full reprint rights so you can sell it at the full price and keep all the money.
(Did you know that I test-drive EVERY single ebook/download that I offer in the ezine before adding it to the poll? Why do I do this? To try to make sure I give you stuff that`s actually worth having, of course ;~) )
Visit the Members Lounge for the download link, and don`t forget to get your votes in for next weeks e-book while you`re there.
Not Just Another Interview #57 is posted this week. Don`t forget, the interviews may possibly be used in future ebooks as well as the ezine, plus they`re a great way to gain new contacts interested in exactly what YOU do.
Don`t worry, it`s only a teeny tiny questionnaire type interview.. lol
C`mon, don`t be shy. We really love getting to know you better. (Remember to add your website url too.) If you`re unsure of how to send one in, the form is in the Members Lounge, along with all the other forms and stuff ;~)
As always, the link to the Members Lounge can be found at the bottom of this page EVERY week.

How To Spot A Fraudulent Email
(C) Copyright by Anna-Marie Stewart
In my travels around the internet marketing forums, I noticed a lot of people were having problems with emails they were receiving from places like Paypal, Ebay and various online banks.
The amount of phishing that's going on these days is almost incredible, what's worse is that so few people are actually aware of it, so I sat myself down and wrote an article in the hopes of helping a few more people avoid being scammed.
Have YOU been receiving supsicious looking emails from Paypal, telling you that your account is about to be closed or limited due to suspicious activites being registered by their staff?
It`s definitely a phishing scam where people are out to fool you into giving them your info. Looking at the code, or headers will usually reveal anonymous urls, especially numbered ones, or urls that are definitely not pointing to paypal.
The 3 Dead Giveaways:
A). The email isn`t addressed to you personally, but says "Dear customer". Paypal, and all other banks will always address you by name in their mails to you.
B). Ask around a bit, and you`ll hear of others who`ve had the exact same messages. This is because the phishing is going on in mass mailings to thousands of people at a time.
C). I don`t know about other email programs, but if you`re using Outlook Express, you can usually see the REAL website address by running your mouse over the one in the email. It`ll show up right at the bottom of your Outlook Express.
Another way to check is by checking the headers of the email. This is quite easy to do, although not many people seem to be aware of it. Here`s a quick step-by-step:
1. Click once on the subject line of the mail in question to highlight it.
2. Right click the subject and choose Properties
3. Click on Details
4. Click on Message Source
This will show you every single detail of the mail, all the HTML code, all the headers, where the mail originated and a whole lot more. Once you`ve checked all that, just close the source.
All in all this will probably take up 2 minutes of your time but can definitely save you thousands of pounds, dollars or whichever currency you use, so make it a habit to "deep-check" any suspicious mails that you`re unsure of.
Pleas note that A lot of ebay emails are going around like this too, telling you that your account is about to be suspended. You might also notice a lot of emails supposedly coming from banks like Citibank. I get at least 3 or 4 of EACH every day.
Should you EVER receive anything like this, please deep-check and report to the main websites. Never click the links in the mails. Open a new browser window and TYPE IN the web-address, making sure you include https:// so that you get to their secure pages.

Hi Anna,
Thanks for another good issue. I especially enjoyed reading
"Focus On The Positive Side of Internet Business."
by Jack Humphrey. It's refreshing to read something that puts a positive spin on Internet marketing for a change.
We're all aware of the challenges confronted with a home business and it's good to read a different perspective ~ one that gives us all a morale boost!
Of course your welcome message was the treat it always is!
(But you didn't have to tell everyone that your attempt at copywriting made me giggle! [grin])
I'm looking forward to your next issue.
Warm regards,
Linda

Designing Your Web Site for the Most Effect on the Search Engines.
(c)Copyright 2005 by Sonya Anderson
Most people in today's business world want to see their company up on the web. It's a great way to market your site to potential clients, like a portfolio, that anyone in the world can see. However, there are a few issues that you need to know before venturing out into the vast world of the World Wide Web and search engines.
Web Site Design:
Remember simple is better. Complicated and busy web sites can deter your clients from staying on your site. Have a nice clean look and avoid clutter. Pick colours that are pleasing to the eye. Bright colours can distract the viewer away from the content on your site plus make them feel like they need sunglasses!
Make sure that your navigation system is consistent throughout your site and that all pages are linked together. This makes it much easier for the search engines to spider your site. If you are going to use a large amount of graphics, just remember that you need to have lots of text on your pages. Graphics may look nice but text can be spidered.
Use ALT tags to describe your image so that when your client mouses over the image it will display what the image is. This also helps with search engine spiders.
If you have considered creating a Flash based site, please remember that this is an obstacle for the search engine spiders. Consider having an html site available as well as the Flash site.
Dynamic sites are now being spidered better by the search engines. Consider having static pages with permanent content so that the spiders will target these pages to index.
Search engines love change. Do not be scared to update your site frequently. This will entice them to return more often to index your site.
Search engines love content. The more you have, the better they like it. Your site will rank higher if you have a large site. Please remember that original information is key to having a consistent relationship with the search engine spiders.
Use HTML properly on your site. Many instant html generators like Microsoft Word generate extra code that makes it harder for your site to be indexed by the spiders. Macromedia Dreamweaver is the industry standard.
Use Cascading Style Sheets instead of using font, colour, size, link and heading tags. This is now considered to be industry standard as well. Attaching the css to the web page cleans up your coding.
Please stay away from frames. Most search engines can not spider framed sites. Even some browsers will not display frames so some of your potential clients will not be able to see your site. Use PHP includes or CSS to accomplish the site design that you had in mind.
Remember to pick your keyword phrases carefully. Do not pick ones that are searched 200,000 times in a month. Imagine how difficult this would be to break into the top 10? Use this site to determine what keyword phrases you should use:
http://inventory.overture.com/d/searchinventory/suggestion
Remember to distribute your keywords on your web page at least 5 to 7 times. Do not compromise the text content by cramming these words in. Any potential customer will leave the site if they can't understand what they are reading. Use different keyword phrases for each page.
Please remember to test your web site in a few different browsers. What someone sees on Internet Explorer may not be the same thing as on Netscape. Here are 5 great browsers to check out: Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, Netscape, Avant Browser, and for your european clients check out Opera.
Remember there are an enormous amount of web sites out there that can help you with designing your web site. Here are a few you might want to check out:
