WELCOME
Welcome to all, old and new! :~)
Ahhh, it`s nice to be back after my 2 week break! I called it a break, but as most of you know, I never really do just "not" work on my internet stuff, so while I was away from the ezine I managed to get a couple of things finished. The first one is the full version of my Forget The Hype! ebook. The book itself is finished, and a whole lot meatier than the free version (which is still available HERE for those of you who haven`t read it yet). There`s just a few things I`m waiting on before I can release the full version to the world, but rest assured, you guys will be the first to know ;~)
The 2nd thing I finished was a small 8 page book with 25 tips for building up confidence. It`s called The Confidence Booster, available in both .pdf and .exe formats, it`s free, and you can grab a copy from these direct download links:
The Confidence Booster .pdf version (zipped)
The Confidence Booster .exe. version
I finally went ahead and got Adobe Acrobat Pro for creating the new books with, and although the free pdf creators do their job pretty well, I must say, it`s definitely been the best one to work with for me.
I thank you all for completing the survey I sent out around xmas time. It made me decide to do my books in both the .pdf version and the .exe version. Seems like there was a 50/50 preference for both of them. I plan to do more surveys like that in the future, and hopefully with more targeted questions. In the meantime, if you haven`t filled out the survey yet, please do so HERE when you have a couple of minutes to spare.
Courtney had her first day in infants school today. she looked SO cute in her uniform.. LOL. I think it was more scary for her than it was for me though, and I`m really glad I home educate Kyle. I`d be lost if I had to be on my own all day every day... She loved school, and had a great time, although she did come home a tad disappointed. With a look of total disdain, shock and disgust on her face she announced "Mum, we didn`t have to do ANY writing at all. My Miss didn`t HAVE any for us to do!" LOL, she`s definitely a chip off the old block
Anyway, until next time, get those votes in, get those interviews in, and above all...
Enjoy Reading!
May you be happy and prosperous in everything you do!

This weeks download/ebook is Sequential Magic: In Sequential Magic, you'll discover how to maximise the huge profit potential from sequential autoresponders...
(Did you know that I test-drive EVERY single ebook/download that I offer in the ezine before adding it to the poll? Why do I do this? To try to make sure I give you stuff that`s actually worth having, of course ;~) )
Visit the Members Lounge for the download link, and don`t forget to get your votes in for next weeks e-book while you`re there.
Not Just Another Interview #55 is posted this week. Don`t forget, the interviews may possibly be used in future ebooks as well as the ezine, plus they`re a great way to gain new contacts interested in exactly what YOU do.
Don`t worry, it`s only a teeny tiny questionnaire type interview.. lol
C`mon, don`t be shy. We really love getting to know you better. (Remember to add your website url too.) If you`re unsure of how to send one in, the form is in the Members Lounge, along with all the other forms and stuff ;~)
As always, the link to the Members Lounge can be found at the bottom of this page EVERY week.

5 Free Ways to Increase Traffic to your Online
Business
(C) Copyright by Scott J. Patterson
So you've finally created a website for your small online
store! Now you think, "How do I get people to visit my
site?" If you're like most new website owners, you wonder how
to bring potential customers to your site without spending
lots of money on expensive advertising. In order to help you,
I've compiled a small list of five methods that I have used to
drastically increase traffic to my own site. I've also listed
two websites under each tip that will help you get started
implementing these suggestions.
1. Offer a freebie or a contest for your items: One of
main reasons that people use the Internet is to find free
stuff. If you offer a freebie or contest for one of your
items, then you are likely to attract potential customers. To
get maximum exposure for your freebie or contest, you should
register with as many "free stuff sites" as possible. Here
are a couple of sites that are great starting points:
http://www.thefreesite.com and http://www.realfreesite.com.
2. Link to similar websites: A popular method used by
webmasters to increase web traffic is to swap links with
comparable websites. To find good linking partners, check
out these two link partner directories:
http://www.linkmarket.net and http://www.gotop.com/.
3. Join an Internet discussion group: People also
frequently use the Internet to find places where they share
common interests with other individuals, which has led to the
creation of Internet discussion groups. You can use
discussion groups to introduce yourself and your product.
Find a group that is related to your store or personal
interest, and make sure any topic that you post is tied into a
current discussion. Two great listings of potential starting
points for discussion groups are: http://groups.yahoo.com/ and
http://topica.com/.
4. Post your product or service on a free classified ad
page: Although many websites only have paid inclusion into
their classified ads, many offer a free place where you are
allowed to advertise your merchandise. If you spend time
developing an interesting headline or ad, you can bring in a
steady amount of traffic from these sites. Here are two great
starting points to find free classified ads:
http://www.usfreeads.com/ & http://www.ecki.com/links/.
5. Write an article related to your website and submit it
to ezines: By writing an article about your service or a
topic related to your website, you instantly become an
authority on your issue. Although you might have some
apprehension about writing, if you have a website, then you
probably have something to talk about. Two great directories
on ezines are: http://freezineweb.com/ and
http://www.ezinelocater.com .
By following these steps, you should see a dramatic increase
in your web traffic. The key is to always think about website
promotion--if you spend a little time each day following one
of these steps, you will be rewarded with more visitors and
hopefully more customers. Good luck, and happy advertising!
P.S. Stay tuned for more free ways to increase traffic to your
website!

How to Write and Use Description Tags on Your Web Pages.
(c)Copyright 2004 by By Donald Nelson
Many people are afraid to write the meta tags for their websites,
thinking that they would have to be search engine optimization
specialists in order to do it properly. While you may not have
any special expertise in the field of search engine optimization,
you should be an expert in your own business's area of activity,
and if you combine this knowledge with some simple guidelines you
can write accurate meta tags. Let us see how to write one of the
most important meta tags, the description tag.
The description tag is one of the "big three" meta tags, which
also include the title tag, and the keywords tag. These three
meta tags along with other tags are located in the html code of
your website between the sections marked and .
While this information is not seen on your web page when someone
views your site with a browser, the head section is read by the
search engine "robots" and helps the search engines to
"understand" what your web page is all about.
Writing the description tag is a good exercise because it will
force you to become clear about what you are doing and what you
are offering to your viewers. A description tag is in fact like a
short mission statement, explaining your enterprise in a
nutshell. If someone wakes you in the middle of the night and
asks you what your website or your business is all about, you
should be able to answer with a concise two or three sentence
description without any hesitation.
Here is step-by-step guide to creating and using effective
description tags:
1. Write like a journalist. Mention the important W's, such as
who, what, where, when, why. In a description tag, the "what" is
the most important element. What do you do? What do you sell?
Where do you do it? What is this page all about? Describe what
you do in a simple sentence and be sure to incorporate the words
and phrases which are most likely to be used when people search
for your product or service.
Suppose your business is the Kenosha Wisconsin Window Cleaning
Company. A description tag for your main page might start off
like this: The Kenosha Wisconsin Window Cleaning Company
provides window cleaning services for residences and businesses
in the greater Kenosha, Wisconsin area.
2. Include your Unique Selling Proposition or USP: The USP is
actually the "why" of the classic "who, what, where and why"
formula. Why should someone use your service and not someone
else's? The USP is what sets you apart from the others.
Remember when someone makes a query in a search engine yours will
not be the only site that comes up. Your competitors will also be
there, and they will offer similar products or services. In many
search engines the description tag or part of the description tag
is displayed in the search results. If your description tag
provides some distinctive information, conveying a unique benefit
that you provide, then the likelihood that a searcher will click
through to your site will increase.
Let's go back to the example of the Kenosha Window Cleaning site
and add the USP to the description. The first lines of the
description read: "The Kenosha Wisconsin Window Cleaning Company
provides window cleaning services for residences and businesses
in the greater Kenosha, Wisconsin area." Another sentence saying
"We guarantee a great job every time at a price you can afford,"
could be added to give more detail about the quality, guarantee
and the affordability of the service.
3. Put this description in the meta tag section of the head and
in the text of the page itself.
You've just taken some time to explain what your web page is all
about, and have included some compelling reason why someone
should buy your product or service. Don't hide this information
in a place where your readers cannot see it. If you only put the
description in the meta tag section, then the search engine
robots will see it but many of your visitors will not.
Rather, use your description as part of your first paragraph or
even as part of your opening headline. Your description contains
your important key phrase and key words. If you place it in the
opening paragraph or somewhere on your page, then the search
engine optimization value of the description is doubled or even
tripled. A big mistake in search engine optimization is to use
meta tags, but then have no descriptive text on the page, relying
on images to convey the message. Use the description tag to begin
your text, and add some more to amplify it and expand on what you
have written.
4. Write a distinct description tag for each of your pages,
focusing on the unique content and purpose of that particular
page.
Another big mistake on many websites is to use the same meta tags
on all the pages. Each of your pages is different. Each page has
or should have a special item of importance. Look at your pages
and think of the special part that the page plays in your overall
marketing effort, and make a unique description tag. As with the
description tag for your main page, put this description within
the text of the page itself.
Even if you get a professional search engine optimization service
to write the main meta tags for your site, you can put this
knowledge into practice whenever you add new pages to your site.
Good description tags will help your site to be found in search
engine queries, and when used as part of the main text of your
pages will also help your web visitors to quickly understand your
most important marketing messages.
