Welcome to all, old and new! :~)

Wow, the levels some people stoop to in the quest for information/customers is unbelievable! Last week, I got a mail asking about which autoresponders we use here at NJAE, from someone claiming that he really enjoyed reading the ezine, and saying how pleased he was that we offered it for free. I didn`t recognise the email address, or the initials, but replied anyway. As you all know, we don`t use AR`s here, except for the confirmation and welcome mails.

So anyway, late last night, I got another email, this time offering me a VIP pass to a joint venture seminar in Las Vegas, from the same person, but signed "Jason Cox". I knew I`d seen the name somewhere before, and thought it was strange that this guy who didn`t even seem to be subscribed to the ezine was acting like he`d been a subcriber forever, and was offering me, a tiny little fish in a great big ocean, this opportunity. So I decided to do some of what I do best: Research.

Nothing much turned up, that is until I found some posts by the guy in a couple of forums I go to every now and again, but also over at Michael Green`s howto forum, which I visit on a regular basis.

Turns out Jason Cox uses some dirty little tricks for getting in touch with people, such as hiring kids to do the dirty work of researching websites, then contacting the owners, passing themselves off as Jason, getting on friendly terms with them and so on, effectively creating a "warm market" ready for him to pump. Personally though, although I`m not saying his program is a scam, (I can`t as I`ve never tried it myself, and he DOES have some big names on his site), it all just seems a tad shady to me.

I guess I just don`t "get" the dishonesty thing. Like why on earth have someone passing themselves off as YOU, instead of them introducing themselves as so-and-so`s assistant or something like that? I always believed that honesty is best, and I still do. So, if Jason Cox, or his "assistant" should suddenly decide to subscribe to the ezine, (I DID let him know I couldn`t find him as a subscriber), then I hope they`ll at least have the decency to reply to this.

All reader feedback and comments on this is highly welcome, so get those mails coming in to me. I REALLY want to hear your comments on this one.

Onto happier subjects: Woohoo! yet another interview this week a new one again this week, make sure you check it out. You guys are really getting the hang of this. Way cool!

Featured Article: What's Stopping You?

We're all familiar with the cycle:
1. We want new, but resist change.
2. We want satisfaction, but procrastinate.
3. We want control, but defer to circumstance.
So, what's stopping *you*?

A belief?
"I'm an incurable procrastinator, I'll probably be late to my own funeral." Beliefs like this dictate your thoughts, and your thoughts turn into action -- or in this case, *inaction*. Consciously turn those thoughts into something that can help you, not hinder you.

A habit?
While it seems too simple to actually have impact, success on any goal boils down to a good habit. If you eat well and exercise, you'll be successful with a healthy lifestyle. If you don't control your spending and put aside some for emergencies, you'll conversely end up with financial woes. Do you habits help you or hurt you?

Easier not to do?
This is probably the most common stopper. "Sure, I'd love to have my own business, but.". Change is not easy. No matter how small a change, you will feel uncomfortable at some points. We all know this, and sometimes it's just easier to live with the 'familiar unhappiness' than to push through the inevitable uncomfortable feelings. Anticipate the feelings, and be ready to push through the change until it becomes a part of you.

Fear?
What if I'm not happier? What if I fail? What if I make a mistake? While the buzz words are "fear of failure", often the more concrete reason is fear of looking silly or ignorant, or -- gasp! -- uncool. But without being able to accept failure, and possible even some ridicule while you learn, you are dooming yourself to the rut you are in. The same way a toddler has to fall over and over before he gets it right, you too will have to be willing to fall down, get up, and try and again.

So what can you do about these stoppers?
1. Minimize its impact in your life: Find, create, and set up the emotional, mental, or physical support you need. 2. Change it: Take a hard look at your daily habits. Are they contributing to what you want out of life? You can practice daily bad habits or daily good habits. It's truly your choice. 3. Neutralize it: Turn the negative message into a positive choice. "Maybe I am a procrastinator, but that's not something I'm born with like blue eyes. I can still control my brain, and make my choices on what I want, not on what a procrastinator might do."

Remember This: The *only* difference between you and the people who are getting what they want in their lives is that they kept trying, kept learning, kept asking and negotiating and exploring -- kept moving forward, one step at a time. Get Moving!

Featured Article: Just Do Something

There are many keys to success, but they all depend on one thing: action. No one ever experiences success in any area of life without first taking some action. No amount of good training, excellent planning or benevolent intention will ever create success. Not even a little.

Now, that may not be news to many of you. In fact, Nike seems to have capitalized on that idea with their "Just Do It" advertising campaign.

But I'm going to tell you something about successful people you may not have realized: Successful people take action-even if it is the wrong action-and succeed despite their miscalculations.

I have observed again and again successful people making poor decisions, taking actions which were counter-productive to their goals, yet succeeding in spite of it.

Successful people have a habit of action. They don't overanalyze or plan. Instead, they often jump in and learn from their mistakes. Since they have dealt with their fear of failure as well as their fear of success, they can simply plow through the mistakes and adversities.

People who never quite make it seem to major in everything EXCEPT action. They are great planners. They read all the books. They are perfectly trained. They just never take action.

So, if you are falling a little behind in your life plans today, why not try this: Do SOMETHING - even if it might be the wrong thing - and see what happens.

You might be surprised at the results.
